What We Do

The Council is charged with developing strategies to improve traffic safety on our federal, state, county and local roads through better engineering, enforcement, education, and emergency response. Additionally, the Council is tasked with identifying 'best practices', recommendation of safety legislation and educational materials for driver education, analyzing laws and programs governing motor carrier safety, and establishing a matrix of indicators that objectively measure and report our state’s progress in reducing serious injuries and fatalities due to vehicular crashes.
